Salespeople need all of your marketing and sales materials NOW - a need that's difficult to meet even with the most comprehensive sales and marketing information systems. They want to know about new brochures, advertisements and mailers; they expect easy access to accurate product presentations and correct versions of documents; and they increasingly demand collateral in electronic formats so they can email them to customers or print them on desktop printers.

Traditionally, the expectations from Sales resulted in frustration for the Marketing staff who couldn't keep up. Attempts to handle the large volume of requests also resulted in a lot of money being wasted printing and warehousing hard copies of materials that may never be used, shipping binders to field offices, making CD's, and preparing the weekly "Marketing Update."
